Frictiondragprimarilydeterminesthetotaldragoftransportsystems.ApromisingapproachtoreducedragathighReynoldsnumbers(>104)areactivetransversalsurfacewavesincombinationwithpassivemethodslikearibletsurface.Fortheapplicationintransportationsystemswithlargesurfacessuchasairplanes,shipsortrains,alargescaledistributedreal-timeactuatorandsensornetworkisrequired.Thisnetworkisresponsibleforprovidingconnectionsbetweenaglobalflowcontrolanddistributedactuatorsandsensors.ForthedevelopmentofthisnetworkweestablishedatfirstasmallscalenetworkmodelbasedonSimulinkandTrueTime.TodeterminetimescalesfornetworkeventsondifferentpackagesizeswesetupaRaspberryPibasedtestbedasaphysicalrepresentationofourfirstmodel.Thesetimescalesarereducedtotimedifferencesbetweenthedeterministicnetworkeventstoverifythebehaviorofourmodel.Experimentalresultswereimprovedbysynchronizingthetestbedwithsufficientprecision.Withthisapproachweassurealinkbetweenthelargescalemodelandthelaterconstructedmicrocontrollerbasedreal-timeactuatorandsensornetworkfordistributedactiveturbulentflowcontrol.
