DistributionandaccumulationofNd,anditseffectonsecretionofprogesteroneinmicewerestudiedusingradioisotopetracer(147Nd)technique.Followingsingleintraperitonealadministrationofneodymiumtracedwith147Ndatadoseof200mg*kg-1,unevendistributionoftheradioactiveNdoccurredinvarioustissuesandorgans.Muchamountof147Ndaccumulatesinthebone,andtheresidueincreaseswiththelapseoftime.Someamountofradioactivitywasalsodetectedineyes,bloodandbrain,buttheaccumulationdecreasedwiththetimeduetoexcretionandre-distributioninmice.Incomparisonwithcontrols,concentrationofprogesteroneisfoundtobesignificantlylowerintheserumofadministeredmice,indicatingasignificantlyinhibitoryeffectofNdonsecretionofprogesterone.
