Effects of truncated Gaussian beam on the performance offFiber optical synthetic aperture system

摘要 Inthefiberopticalsyntheticaperture(FOSA)system,thediffractionoftheGaussianbeamlimitedbytheapertureinexitpupilplaneoffibercollimatorisstudiedtheoretically,andtheaxialandtransverseirradiancedistributionsareobtained.Thepointspreadfunction(PSF)andmodulationtransferfunction(MTF)ofthetruncatedGaussianbeamarrayarecomputednumericallywithdifferenttruncationfactors.TheresultsshowthatthediffractionofthetruncatedGaussianbeamarrayagreeswiththeuniform-beamRayleighdiffractionwhenthetruncationfactorislessthan0.5,butlittlepoweristransmitted.ThePSFandMTFaredegraded,butmorepowercanbecontainedwhenthetruncationfactorislarger.Theselectionofthetruncationfactorisatrade-offbetweenthelossoftransmissionandthequalitiesofPSFandMTFinpracticalapplication.
