Increasing the Tensile Property of Unidirectional Carbon/Carbon Composites by Grafting Carbon Nanotubes onto Carbon Fibers by Electrophoretic Deposition

摘要 Althoughin-situgrowingcarbonnanotubes(CNTs)oncarbonfiberscouldgreatlyincreasethematrix-dominatedmechanicalpropertiesofcarbon/carboncomposites(C/Cs),italwaysdecreasedthetensilestrengthofcarbonfibers.Inthiswork,CNTswereintroducedintounidirectionalcarbonfiber(CF)preformsbyelectrophoreticdeposition(EPD)andtheywereusedtoreinforceC/Cs.EffectsofthecontentofCNTsintroducedbyEPDontensilepropertyofunidirectionalC/Cswereinvestigated.ResultsdemonstratedthatEPDcouldbeusedasasimpleandefficientmethodtofabricatecarbonnanotubereinforcedC/Cs(CNT—C/Cs)withexcellenttensilestrength,whichpaysameaningfulwaytomaximizetheglobalperformanceofCNT—C/Cs.
