摘要
Historically,groundcalcinedaluminaswerethefirsthigh-aluminamatrixproductsthatwereusedinrefractoryformulations,inbothshapedandunshapedproducts.Atthattimetheflowpropertiesofcastableswereenhancedbytheuseofsilicafume.Thiswasfollowedlaterbythedevelopmentoffullygroundreactivealuminaswhichcontributedtothedesignofthematrixbelow63μm.Inadditiontoaggregatefines,arangeofbi-modalandmulti-modalreactivealuminaswerealsodeveloped.Thesenotonlygaveimprovedphysicalpropertiesbutalsobettercastableworkability.Thispaperreviewsmatrixaluminadevelopmentsovertime,frombasicgroundcalcinestocomplexmulti-modalmatrixproductsandtheirgloballystandardisedmanufacture.
