摘要
Erythroprotein-producinghumanhepatocellularcarcinomareceptors(Ephreceptors)composeasubfamilyoftransmembraneprotein-tyrosinekinasesreceptorsthattakespartinnumerousphysiologicalandpathologicalprocesses.Ephfamilyreceptor-interactingproteins(Ephrins)areligandsforthosereceptors.Eph/ephrinsystemisresponsibleforthecytoskeletonactivity,celladhesion,intercellularconnection,cellularshapeaswellascellmotility.Itaffectsneurondevelopmentandfunctioning,boneandglucosehomeostasis,immunesystemandcorrectfunctionofenterocytes.MoreoverEph/ephrinsystemisoneofthecrucialonesinangiogenesisandlymphangiogenesis.Withsuchawiderangeofimpactitisclearthatdisturbedfunctionofthissystemleadstopathology.Eph/ephrinsystemisinvolvedincarcinogenesisandcancerprogression.Althoughtheideaofparticipationofephrinincarcinogenesisisobvious,theexactwayremainsunclearbecauseofcomplexbi-directionalsignalingandcross-talkswithotherpathways.Furtherstudiesarenecessarytofindanewtargetfortreatment.
