The18monthssinceCHEP'2000haveseensignificantadvancesinGridcomputing,bothwithinandoutsidehighenergyphysics,Whileinearly2000,GridComputingwasanovelconceptthatmostCHEPattendeeswerebeingexposedtoforthefirsttime,wenowseeconsiderableconsensusonGridarchitecture,asolidandwidelyadopetedtechnologybase,majorfundinginitiatives,awidevarietyofprojectsdevelopingapplicationsandtechnologies,andmajordeploymentprojectsaimedatcreatingrobustGridinfrastructures,Iprovideasummaryofmajordevelopmentsandtrends,focusingontheGlobusopensourceGridsoftwareprojectandtheGriPhyNdatagridproject.
