Underwater image enhancement based on red channel weighted compensation and gamma correction model

摘要 Duetothespecialcharacteristicsoflightinwater,theinformationoftheredchannelisseriouslyattenuatedincollectedimage.Thiscausesothercolorstodominatetheimage.Thispaperproposesanunderwaterimageenhancementalgorithmbasedonredchannelweightedcompensationandgammacorrectionmodel.Firstly,byanalyzingtheattenuationcharacteristicsofRGBchannels,theintensityandtheedgeinformationofredchannelarecompensatedbyweightingtheattenuationcoefficientratiobetweendifferentchannelstocorrectthechromaticity.Thenthegammacorrectionmodelisemployedtostretchtheintensityrangetoenhancethecontrastwhichmakestheimagelookclearer.Theexperimentalresultsshowthattheproposedalgorithmcancorrectthecolorcasteffectandimprovethecontrastbynearly2timesfortheunderwaterimageswithtoomuchredcomponentattenuation.
