Experimental and numerical study of flow structures of the second-mode instability

摘要 FlowstructuresofaMach6transitionalboundarylayerovera260mmlongflaredconeareinvestigatedbytheparticleimagevelocimetry(PIV).Particleimagesnearthecurvedwallareinitiallytransformedintosurface-fittedorthogonalcoordinatesandsplicedwiththeir180°-symmetricimagestosatisfyano-slipconditionatthewall.Theresultsarethenreverselytransformedtothephysicaldomain.Directnumericalsimulation(DNS)isalsoperformedtovalidatetheexperimentalresults.Theexperimentalandnumericalresultsareinagreement,indicatingastrongdilatationprocesswithinthesecond-modeinstability.
