Arbitrary focusing lens by holographic metasurface

摘要 Inthispaper,anultrathinmetalenshasbeenproposedbasedonaholographicmetasurfacethatconsistsofelongatedaperturesin40nmgoldfilm,whichexhibitintriguingpropertiessuchason-andoff-axisfocusingandalsocanconcentratelightintomultiple,discretespotsforcircularlypolarizedincidentlights.First,thespatialtransmissionphasedistributionsofthedesignedmetalenswitharbitraryfocusingcanbeobtainedbycomputergeneratedholography.Then,thediscretephasedistributionscanbecontinuouslyencodedbysubwavelengthnanoapertureswithspatiallyvaryingorientationsingoldfilm.Thesimulationresultsshowthatourdesignedmetalenscanworkefficientlyfordifferenttypesoffocusing.Finally,ourmetasurfaceshowssuperiorbroadbandcharacteristicsbetween670and810nm,andthecorrespondingfocallengthsofthedesignedlensesalsocanbeefficientlymodulatedwiththeincidentlightsatdifferentwavelengths.
