摘要
TheAlpsweredevelopedfromtheCretaceousonwardsbysubductionofaMesozoicoceanandcollisionbetweentheAdriatic(Austroalpine-Southalpine)andEuropean(Penninic-Helvetic)continentalmargins.TheAustroalpine-Penninicwedgeisthecoreofthecollisionalbelt,afossilsubductioncomplexwhichfloatsontheEuropeanlowerplate.Itconsistsofcontinentalandminoroceanicnappesandismarkedbyablueschist-to-eclogite-faciesimprintofCretaceous-Eoceneage,followedbyaBarrovianoverprint.ThecollisionalwedgewaslateraccretedbytheHelveticbasementandcoverunitsandindentedbytheSouthalpinelithosphere,whichinturnwasdeformedasanantitheticfold-and-thrustbelt.
