SIMULATION AND EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF CHAOS GENERATION IN MICROWAVE BAND USING COLPITTS CIRCUIT

摘要 ChaoticColpittscircuitswithfundamentalfrequencyf*beyond1GHzarestudiedbybothcircuitsimulationandexperimentusingPhilips'broadbandtransistorwiththresholdfrequencyof25GHz.ForthebasicconfigurationofColpittscircuitwithf*ofabout1.6GHz,broadbandcontinuouspowerspectracouldbeobtainedfrombothcircuitsimulationsandexperiments.TheharmonicsoftheobservedsignalfromAgilentPSA/ESAspectrumanalyzerareasnoticeableasfaras12GHz.AmodifiedColpittscircuitstructureemployingtheparasiticinductanceofBJT(BipolarJunctionTransistor)isalsoproposedandinvestigated.Bycircuitsimulation,chaoticattractorandbroadbandcontinuouspowerspectracouldbeobtainedfromthemodifiedColpittscircuitwithf*ofabout3.5GHz.Becausetheparasiticeffectsoftheprototypeboard,theexperimentresultofthemodifiedColpittscircuitdoesnotagreewellwiththesimulationresult.Thegapbetweenthesimulationandexperimentalresultcouldbebridgedbyreplacingthelumpedcircuitelementswithdistributedones.
