摘要 Atrialnatriureticpeptide(ANP)isapeptidehormonethathaspotentnatriuretic,diuretic,vasodilator,sympatholytic,andrenin-andaldos-terone-suppressingactivitiesandisinvolvedintheregulationofvolumeandelectrolytebalanceandbloodpressure.Further,ANPhasalsobeenshowntoinhibitcellulargrowth,proliferationandinduceapoptosisinavarietyofcelllines,includingvascularsmoothmusclecellsandcardiacmyocytes.RecentstudieshavedemonstratedthatANPisnotonlyinvolvedinbloodpressureandvolumehomeostasisbutalsointhedirectregulationofcardiacgrowth.Weandotherinvestigatorshavedemonstratedtheexistenceofnatriureticpeptidereceptorsintheheartandcardiaccells,suggestingthatANPhasdirectactionsoncardiactissue.SeveralrecentinvivostudieshavesuggestedthatstatementofANPisinverselyrelatedtocardiacgrowth/hypertrophy.TransgenicmiceoverexpressingANPhavelowerheartweightandbloodpressurethanwildtypemice.Conversely,we
