Effectsofdepositionlayerpositionandnumber/densityonlocalbendingofathinfilmaresystematicallyinvestigated.Becausethedepositionlayerinteractswiththethinfilmattheinterfaceandthereisanoffsetbetweenthethinfilmneutralsurfaceandtheinterface,thedepositionlayergeneratesnotonlyaxialstressbutalsobendingmoment.Thebendingmomentinducesaninstantout-of-planedeflectionofthethinfilm,whichmayormaynotcausethesocalledlocalbending.Thedepositionlayerismodeledasalocalstressor,whoselocationanddensityaredemonstratedtobevitaltotheoccurrenceoflocalbending.Thethinfilmrestsonaviscouslayer,whichisgovernedbytheNavier-Stokesequationandbehaveslikeanelasticfoundationtoexerttransverseforcesonthethinfilm.Theunknownfeatureoftheaxialconstraintforcemakesthegoverningequationhighlynonlinearevenforthesmalldeflectioncase.Theconstraintforceandfilmtransversedeflectionaresolvediterativelythroughthegoverningequationandthedisplacementconstraintequationofimmovableedges.Thisresearchshowsthatinsomespecialcases,thedepositiondensityincreasedoesnotnecessarilyreducethelocalbending.Bycomparingthethinfilmdeflectionsofdifferentdepositionnumbersandpositions,wealsopresenttheguidelineofstrengtheningorsuppressingthelocalbending.
