简介:Inordertolistentobrainactivityasapieceofmusic,weproposedascale-freebrainwavemusic(SFBM)technology,whichtranslatesthescalpEEGintomusicnotesaccordingtothepowerlawofbothEEGandmusic.Inthispaper,themethodologywasfurtherextendedtochorusmusicoftwochannelsfromthetwohemispheres.Firstly,EEGdatafromtwochannelssymmetricallylocatedontheleftandrighthemispheresaretranslatedintoMIDIsequencesbySFBM,respectively,wheretheEEGparametersmodulatethepitch,durationandvolumeofeachmusicnote.Then,thetwosequencesarefiiteredintoachorusoftheChinesepentatonicscaleortheWesternmajorscale.TheresultedChineseandWesternmusicatdifferentsleepstagesillustratedistinctdifferencesinharmony,andthemusicwithChinesepentatonicscalesoundsmoreharmonious.
简介:Breastmetastasisfromextra-mammarymalignancyisrare.Anincidenceof0.4%to1.3%hasbeenreportedinliterature.Theprimarymalignanciesthatmostcommonlymetastasizetothebreastareleukemia,lymphoma,andmalignantmelanoma.Inthisreport,twocasesofpulmonarymetastasistothebreastwerepresented.A40-year-oldfemalemanifestedarightbreastmassof2-monthduration.Afterphysicalexaminationwasperformed,apoorlydefinedmasswasnotedintheupperouterquadrantoftherightbreast.Another49-year-oldfemalemanifestedrightbreastmassof5-dayduration.Apoorlydefinedmasswasnotedinthelowerinnerquadrantoftherightbreast.Mammographyresultsalsorevealedbreastcancer.Thepatientsunderwentlocalexcision.Afterhistologicalandimmunohistochemicalanalyseswereconducted,aprimarylungcarcinomathatmetastasizedtothebreastwasdiagnosed.Anaccuratedifferentiationofmetastasistothebreastfromprimarybreastcancerisveryimportantbecausethetreatmentandprognosisofthetwodiffersignificantly.
简介:Themanagementofcastrate-resistantprostatecancerprogressingaftermaximumandrogenblockade(MAB)hasevolvedinthelastdecadewiththedevelopmentofseveralnoveltherapeuticoptions.However,theinitialtherapeuticstrategyinthesepatientsusuallyinvolveswithdrawalofanti-androgenthatcanbeassociatedwithbiochemicalresponseinapproximately20%ofpatients.Notably,wehaveobservedevidenceofsustainedbiochemicalresponseintwopatientsfollowingsecondandthird-lineMABusingrechallengescheduleofpreviouslyadministeredanti-androgenafterlatentinterval.ThepossibilityofresponsefollowingsequentialMABusingthesameanti-androgenagenthasnotyetbeenreported.
简介:Molecularsubtypingofbreastcancermayprovideadditionalprognosticinformationregardingpatientoutcome.Theepidermalgrowthfactorreceptor(HER2)overexpressingbreastcancersaredesignatedasHER2-postive(HER2+)breastcancerandcarryaparticularlyunfavorableprognosis.WepresenttwocasesofHER2-postivemetastaticbreastcancer(MBC)whoarefoundtobeachallengetotreat,especiallyduetotheoccurrenceofbrainmetastasis.Trastuzumab-basedtherapyimprovesclinicaloutcomes,evenifthepatienthasundergonemulti-linetreatment.ThesecasereportsalsoemphasizetheimportanceofretestingHER2statusbecauseitcanbediscordanceinreceptorstatusbetweenprimaryandrecurrentbreastcancer.
