  • 简介:Multiphaseflowcontrolwithelectromagneticbraking(EMBr)iswidelyusedinthecontinuouscastingofsteelslabs.Thebasicaimoftheflowcontrolsystemoftheprocessistodelivermoltensteelfromtheladlethroughthetundish,uppertundishnozzle,slidegate,andsubmergedentrynozzleintothemoldregionwithminimaldefects.Thisrequirestheoptimizationofturbulencelevelsatameniscustoavoidbothanexcessivelyfastflow(whichcreateshighfluctuationsofthemeniscuslevelinadditiontoslagentrapment,surfacenonuniformities,andsurfacedefects)andinsufficientslowflow(whichleadstomeniscussolidification,inadequatefluxinfiltration,andsurfacedefects).Inthisstudy,aEulerian-LagrangianapproachisusedtoinvestigatetheeffectsofEMBrandArbubbleinjectiononthesurfaceflowvelocity.TheresultsshowthathighArinjectionratescanleadtoanincreaseinsurfacevelocity.

  • 简介:Theinfluenceofbafflepositiononliquidsloshingduringthebrakingandturningofatanktruckwasstudiedusingavolumeoffluid(VOF)model.Theforces,theirpositionsandweightdistributionduringbrakingandtheforcesandrollingmomentduringturningwerecalculated.Thereliabilityofthecalculationmethodwasvalidatedbycomparisonswithexperimentalresults.Theresultsshowedthatduringbraking,liquidsplashesinthetankandthemaximumforcesandG(theratioofweightactingonthefrontaxletotherearaxle)arelargewhenA(theratioofthearchareaabovethebaffletotheareaofcrosssection)≤0.1.WhenA≥0.2,asthepositionofthebaffleislowered,themaximumofFx(theforceindirectionx)firstdecreasesthenincreases,andthemaximumofFy(theforceindirectiony)andGincrease.Duringturning,liquidsplashesinthetankandthemaximumforcesandM(therollingmoment)arelargewhenD(theratioofthearchareaabovethebaffletotheareaofcrosssection)≤0.2.WhenD≥0.3,asthepositionofthebaffleislowered,themaximumsofFy,Fz(theforceindirectionz)andMincrease.
