  • 简介:Collaborativeenvironmentssupportingpointtopointandmultipointvideoconferencing,documentandapplicationsharingacrossbothlocalandwideareanetworks,videoondemand(Broadcastandplayback)andinteractivetextfacilitieswillbeacrucialelementforthedevelopmentofthenextgenerationofHEPexperimentsbygeographicallydispersedcollaborations.The"VirtualRoomVideoconferencingSystem"(VRVS)hasbeendevelopedsince1995,inordertoprovidealowcost,bandwidth-efficient,extensiblemeansforvideoconferencingandremotecollaborationovernetworkswithinthehighEnergyandNuclearPhysicscommunities.TheVRVS(VirtualRoomsVideoconferencingSystem)providesworldwidevideoconferencingserviceandcollaborativeenvironmenttotheresearchandeducationcommunities,VRVSusestheInternet2andESnethigh-performancenetworksinfrastructuretodeployitsWeb-basedsystem,whichnowincludesmorethan5790registeredhostsrunningVRVSsoftwareinmorethan50differentcountries,VRVShostsanaverageof100-multipointvideconferenceandcollaborativesessionsworldwideeverymonth.Therearearound35reflectorsthatmanagethetrafficflow.atHENPlabsanduniversitiesintheUSandEurope,Sofar,thereare7VirtualRoomsforWorldWideConferences(involvingmorethanonecontient),and4VirtualRoomseachforintra-continentalconferencesintheUS,EuropeandAsia,VRVScontinuestoexpandandimplementnewdigitalvideotechnologies,includingH.323ITUstandardintegration,MPEG-2videoconferencingintegration,sharedenvironments,andQualityofService.

  • 简介:Engineeringandresearchteamsoftendevelopnewproductsandtechnologiesbyreferringtoinventionsdescribedinpatentdatabases.EfficientpatentanalysisbuildsR&Dknowledge,reducesnewproductdevelopmenttime,increasesmarketsuccess,andreducespotentialpatentinfringement.Thus,itisbeneficialtoautomaticallyandsystematicallyextractinformationfrompatentdocumentsinordertoimproveknowledgesharingandcollaborationamongR&Dteammembers.Inthisresearch,patentsaresummarizedusingacombinedontologybasedandTF-IDFconceptclusteringapproach.Theontologycapturesthegeneralknowledgeandcoremeaningofpatentsinagivendomain.Then,theproposedmethodologyextracts,clusters,andintegratesthecontentofapatenttoderiveasummaryandaclustertreediagramofkeyterms.PatentsfromtheInternationalPatentClassification(IPC)codesB25C,B25D,B25F(categoriesforpowerhandtools)andB24B,C09GandH011(categoriesforchemicalmechanicalpolishing)areusedascasestudiestoevaluatethecompressionratio,retentionratio,andclassificationaccuracyofthesummarizationresults.Theevaluationusesstatisticstorepresentthesummarygenerationanditscompressionratio,theontologybasedkeywordextractionretentionratio,andthesummaryclassificationaccuracy.Theresultsshowthattheontologybasedapproachyieldsaboutthesamecompressionratioaspreviousnon-ontologybasedresearchbutyieldsonaveragean11%improvementfortheretentionratioanda14%improvementforclassificationaccuracy.

  • 简介:Inordertoassurequalityandcontrolprocessinthedevelopmentoftheaircraftcollaborativedesignsoftware,amaturityassessmentmodelisproposed.Therequirementsdesigning—houseofqualityisdesignedtoevaluatethematuritydegreeofthesolution,andtheevaluationresultscanhelptomanageandcontrolthedevelopmentprocess.Furthermore,afuzzyevaluationmethodbasedontheminimumdeviationisproposedtodealwiththefuzzyinformation.Thequantitativeevaluationresultofthematuritydegreecanbecalculatedbyoptimizingthesemanticdiscountfactoraimfortheminimumdeviation.Finally,thismodelisillustratedandanalyzedbyanexamplestudyoftheaircraftcollaborativedesignsoftware.

  • 简介:Targettrackingisoneofthemainapplicationsofwirelesssensornetworks.Optimizedcomputationandenergydissipationarecriticalrequirementstosavethelimitedresourceofthesensornodes.Aframeworkandanalysisforcollaborativetrackingviaparticlefilterarepresentedinthispaper.Collaborativetrackingisimplementedthroughsensorselection,andresultsoftrackingarepropagatedamongsensornodes.Inordertosavecommunicationresources,anewGaussiansumparticlefilter,calledGaussiansumquasiparticlefilter,toperformthetargettrackingispresented,inwhichonlymeanandcovarianceofmixandsneedtobecommunicated.BasedontheGaussiansumquasiparticlefilter,asensorselectioncriterionisproposed,whichiscomputationallymuchsimplerthanothersensorselectioncriterions.Simulationresultsshowthattheproposedmethodworkswellfortargettracking.
