Impacts of Social and Demographic Factors on Residents' Subjective Well-being in Rural China

摘要 Theobjectiveofsocialdevelopmentistoconstructaharmonioussociety.InChina,thekeytoaharmonioussocietyisthehappinessofmorethan900millionfarmerslivingintheruralareas.Thisstudyaimedtomeasureruralresidents'subjectivewell-being(SWB)throughthedayreconstructionmethod,aswellastoanalyzeSWB'sinfluencingfactorsthroughavarietyofstatisticalmethods.TheresultsshowedthattheaverageUindexwas12.79%,indicatingthatrespondentswereunhappy12.79%ofthetime.Twenty-sevenpercentofthepopulationhadaUindexgreaterthan0,withtheaveragevaluebeing47%,indicatingthatthesepeoplewereunhappy47%ofthetime.ThestudyalsofoundthatSWBvariedaccordingtothecharacteristicsoftherespondents.Logisticregressionanalysisshowedthatsocialanddemographicfactors,includingage,education,county,householdsize,generationnumber,percapitaincome,migrationstatusandsocialnetworking,whichsignificantlyaffectedruralresidents'SWB.Thesizeoftheimpactvariedwiththedifferentfactors.
