π-Conjugatedpoly(p-phenyleneethynylene)withtheinterruptionoftheconjugationbyabutyleneunitwassynthesized.Itsabsorption,PLandELspectrawereinvestigatedrespectively.Thespectralpeaksshiftedtothehigherenergysidewiththeinterruptionoftheconjugationlengths.Themodelcompoundwassynthesized,bywhichtheresultswereproved.ThethermalcharacteristicsofthepolymerwasdeterminedbyDSCandTGA,indicatingthatthepolymerhasagoodthermalstability.Theelectroluminescence(EL)inthegreenregionofthespectrumwithamaximumat500nmwasobservedfromthepolymerfilmssandwichedbetweenindium-tin-oxideandanAlelectrode.
