Toensurethesuccessofthee-learninginitiatives,OUMhasdevelopeditsowne-learningmanagementsystem,knownasmyLMS.Sinceitsintroduction,manymodificationsandimprovementshavebeenintroducedtoincreaseitseffectiveness.ItisnowtimelythatOUMtakestockofitsstudents'attitudestowardse-learning.Thus,asurveywasconductedonabout1,000studentsatoneofOUM'sownlearningcentres,thatis,theKelantanRegionalCentrel.Thestudyindicatedthatgenerallytheteachercohorthadasomewhatneutralattitudetowardse-learning.Theuseofe-learningwasmorespecificallyaimedatachievingshorttermgoalsofobtaininggoodcourseworkandexaminationgradesbycapitalizingontheuseoftheDiscussionBoardandCourseware.AcloserexaminationrevealsthatthefemalesprefertheDiscussionBoardwhilethemalesprefertheCourseware.LearnersintheEngineeringandEnglishprogrammeshadmorepositiveattitudestowardse-learningcomparedtolearnersintheMathematicsandScienceprogramme.LearnerswithCGPA>3.0whoarecategorizedashighachieversaremorepositivetowardse-learningascomparedtothelowachievers(CGPA<3.0).Agedifference,learners‘incomepermonth,learners’Internetande-learninghabitswerealsofoundtobepredictorsofattitudetowardse-learning.
